Earlier this month, stories circulated in the
media about the health status of one of Nigeria’s renowned music
producer, song writer and singer, OJB Jezreel. According to the reports,
OJB had problems with his kidney.
The stories have now been confirmed to this writer on the morning of June 21, 2013, by a colleague who is also a close friend of OJB. Information reaching us is that the man who was responsible for a number of Nigerian hit songs, and has worked with both the high and mighty, and the upcoming acts within the music industry, has been diagnosed with having kidney failure and urgently requires a transplant procedure worth $100,000. The good news is a donor has been found and all that’s left is this sum of money that friends, family, colleagues and well-wishers need to make available to save one of our own.
Presently, OJB receives dialysis twice a week pending when this fund is ready for, hopefully, the only procedure. While we all soberly pass this message across, we should also endeavor to get actively and genuinely involved to reach a timely and effective end to this terminal illness.
